It was acceptable in the 80's

Flowers and Furbie looooooooove the 80's, for several good reasons.
First of all, complete idiot outfits were acceptable, for example Furbie and here brother Furbo were once dressed up in yellow canary colored jumpsuits. Nobody seemed to be bothered by their crazy appearance. Flowers had backcombed hair and she was the most fashionable girl in her village, in no time everybody copied her hairstyle.
Second of all, a lot of memorable moments took place in the eighties: Holland won the European football cup, the Berlin wall went down, Princess Diana and Prince Charles got married (love the dress) and Flowers and Furbie were born!
Besides, the best music was produced in the eighties by Duran Duran, The Police, Prince, Michael Jackson, U2, the Simple Minds, Wham and Journey (with special thanks to mr. Moody)
Conclusion: everything was acceptable in the eighties!

Therefore we want to take you back to this wonderfull era by showing you our favourite movie fragments of the eighties. You might wonder, where is Dirty Dancing in this tribute to the 80's? Where is 'the lift' where are the 'hungry eyes', where is Patrick? Well our dear readers, we thought it might be best to keep the Dirty Dancing memory just for yourselfs. And last but not least an 80's photo of Flowers and Furbie, back in the days when they were sweet & innocent.

Enjoy!

Teleffffffone

She is a piece of art, she is fabulous, she is fierce, she dresses to kill, she doesn't give a damn what anybody says and she produces kick ass songs.
She could almost be a female reinvented 2010 version of Freddie M.........
She is Lady Gaga!!

And of course you are now all hoping for an exclusive photoshoot of Flowers and Furbie in Lady Gaga outfits.....
Instead we show you her latest video 'Telephone' with Beyonce. The video is produced by Jonas Akerlund and is an reflection on different Quinten Tarantino movies.
Unfortunately MTV decided not to show the video, according to the music television station, the video is too provocative because it includes lesbian kissing, killing bad boyfriends and a lot of nudity. We, of Flowers and Furbie approve all of the above (especially the 'killing bad boyfriends' part) so therefore we proudly present Lady Gaga ft Beyonce with Telephone!

ps pay attention to the Armani, Viktor & Rolf and Alexander Mcqueen outfits

Folklore & Fashion

First of all, we apologize for disappearing. We have absolutely no excuse for not blogging, but we promise we'll make it up to you. To start with our newest blog about Folklore & Fahsion. Two new F's. Foklore, a style that never gets out of fashion.

Folkore by Anna Sui 2010

Folklore by John Galliano 2010

Folklore in black & white

As we said, Folklore is a style that never gets out of fashion. Even not in Holland. And certainly not in the hometown of peoplessinger Jan Smit (famous for his song'I have a garden in my heart' and his mother who is still looking for the lost guest towels): Volendam. So Flowers and Furbie made a little roadtrip this weekend to experience Folkore in it's most pure and authentic way. So hereby, Folklore as how it should be by Flowers and Furbie!

Belts, can i just say, i love belts!
And not the kind of belt you wear to keep your pants from falling down.
No my dear, i'm talking about belts that complete your outfit, the 'finishing touch' kinda belts.
Small ones, big ones, flashy ones.... i just can't get enough!

The Queen of Kings

He is not longer with us, Alexander McQueen died at the age of 40.
He was inspirational to many; Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and even Prince Charles (who had have thought?!) Not only he designed clothes, but also a magnificent set of suitcases for Samsonite.
One last tribute to the Queen of design

It's FF!

It's FF! No, not Flowers and Furbie, but Fancy Friday. Instead of Casual Friday at the office, we decided that everybody should dress up for work. And well, we can only say that most of them did!
